During the weekend of 24 – 26 Oct 2014 Geneva, Switzerland saw the biggest, most prestigeous Traditional Karate tournament – 17th Traditional Karate World Championships. Together with the accompanying 1st Traditional Karate Children’s World Cup, the event attracted well over 700 participants from 24 countries from all over the world, to mention Russia, United States, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Israel, Ukraine, Uruguay, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Italy, Japan, Uzbekistan, Austria, Tunisia, Switzerland, France, Moldova and Venezuela.
The President of United Kingdom Traditional Karate Federation (UKTKF), Mr Kenny Taylor, nominated some members of Traditional Karate Academy Boston (TKAB) for UK National Squad.
The competition was very strong as all the teams represented highest standards of performance. Thus it should be considered a great success on the part of our Club to advance as high as to individual kumite quarter-finals, where Pawel Kutermankiewicz had to acknowledge the advantage of his opponent while fighting for the bronze medal.
