Seminar with sensei Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski – 8 Dan: 12.04.2015

On 10-12 April 2015 Traditional Karate-Do Federation of Great Britain had the honour to host the President of the World Traditional Karate-Do Federation, with headquarters in Geneva, sensei Włodzimierz Kwieciński 8th dan. Once again, students of traditional karate in the UK had an opportunity to practise with such an outstanding master of karate, as is sensei Kwieciński. But this time it was a particularly special event, given the fact that for the first time it was organized by the newly formed traditional karate federation in the UK. This year’s seminar, conducted by sensei Włodzimierz Kwieciński, was held in two places. Namely, the specialist training session on the first day, designed for brown and black belts only, was held in Norwich (University of East Anglia) and was addressed to members of the Traditional Karate-Do Federation of Great Britain, as well as members our friendly organization – Eastern Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA). During next two days the seminar took place in Boston, where there was a general training session, open to all levels, and specialized kumite and kata sessions – masterclasses, designed for the most advanced students of this martial art. TKFGB demonstrations in Oxfordshire: 25.03.2015

Members of the TKFGB National Junior and Senior Squad accompanied by their Chief Coach, Zbigniew Godzisz, arrived in Kingham, Oxfordshire to support a special Karate demonstration held at the local Kingham Hill College. On 21st March over 200 students gathered to see the Karate as presented by sensei Lukasz Radwanski, multiple World and International Champion and medallist. The team also visited Blockley C of E Primary School in Morton-in-Marsh with another display of Karate skills. Both events were enthusiastically welcomed and were followed by numerous questions. The demonstrations are supposed to give rise to a cooperation between Western Traditional Karate Academy and the aforementioned schools. The new classed are planned to launch soon after the end of the school Easter break, on the schools’ premises. It is a part of TKFGB’s initiative for nationwide collaboration with primary and secondary schools within the sportive and educational programme of raising psyhical and mental health awareness....

Legend Shotokan Karate Championships: 07.03.2015

On 7th March, TKFGB representatives competed in Legend Shotokan Karate Championships in Bracknell, near London. The event, which was an open style formula, gathered over 300 competitors, both junior and senior, from all over the UK. It was a very busy competition and most of the athletes showed high level of performance. Our team succeeded in attempt to get to the podium: Mario Kalli secured the gold in individual kata, Lukasz Radwanski, 3rd dan, Andrzej Czyrka, 3rd dan and Mario Kalli, 3rd dan managed to win the bronze in team kumite whereas  Andrzej Czyrka and Mario Kalli reached for the bronze in individual kumite....

1st Traditional Karate Young Talents Tournament: 08.02.2015

On Sunday 8th February 2015 we held our 1st Traditional Karate Young Talents Tournament at the Peter Paine Sports Centre, Boston. The competition was a huge success, with students 13 years old and below of varying grade taking part.
